Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is offered in our Sterling Heights office to help our patients combat their daily stresses and achieve the tranquility they desire. We have licensed massage therapists on staff to provide a variety of techniques to serve you. These techniques include:

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a combination of relaxation and remedial massage to not only relax your whole body but to work on specific areas or “tight spots” you may be experiencing. Differing from the deep tissue massage, the therapeutic massage is more of a gentle massage and is often used for post-surgery patients and people with chronic pain and aches; it is especially beneficial in reducing stress as well.

Deep tissue

Deep tissue is an intense massage with greater pressure applied than a therapeutic massage. It is great for breaking down scar tissue and improving circulation. Trigger point techniques and stretching are applied in the massage and ice or heat packs are applied after the massage upon request.

Sports Massage

Popular among athletes and sports coaches, a sports massage is a good option if you have a recurring injury to a muscle or are looking to increase sports specific performance or flexibility. A sports massage can be done as a full body massage or the massage therapist can focus on specific areas that need the most attention.

Benefits of massage therapy

Massage therapy techniques can release painful muscle tension, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, and reduce mental and physical fatigue.

Massage Therapy in conjunction with chiropractic

Massage Therapy is extremely effective in conjunction with chiropractic treatment. Massage therapy when coupled with chiropractic care, can provide additional aide in treating low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, osteoarthritis of the knee and headaches.
